The new homes in North Walsham West will deliver a high standard of environmental sustainability. These houses will achieve reductions in CO2 emissions of a minimum 31% below the Target Emission Rate of the Building Regulations. This will be achieved through a range of measures including (but not exclusively): prioritising the use of design and energy efficient measures, the provision of appropriate renewable and low carbon energy technologies, orientation, to maximise natural ventilation, use of green roofs, and natural shading, and other appropriate measures. Proposals for non-residential development will be supported to achieve a minimum of BREEAM Very Good Standard or equivalent.
